My time at the National Center for Atmospheric Research

I've learned something new at every job I've had. The last nine months have been no exception. So much happened in my time at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). I applied and got into graduate school. I made fantastic friends. I traveled, lots for work, some for pleasure. I hiked like a madman. [...]

How to find motivation as an intern

September 8, 2017October 24, 2018by Paige HoelLeave a Comment on How to find motivation as an intern

Summer is ending and so is another internship season. I won't elaborate on all that I have personally and professionally learned (that's for another time), but I would like to share how I have adapted to the environments of the two internships I have now participated in during my college career. If you are looking [...]

My internship at DONG Energy

In December of 2016, my mom suggested I look into a Danish company leading the charge in green energy which my dad was making software for. The company, unfortunately titled, was DONG Energy, and after a very lucky chance, I arrived in Copenhagen on June 16th, ready to start as a summer intern. Three months [...]

Days 63 to 67 : KL Part one

There is no way I am going to pack everything that happened in Malaysia into one post! This will be one of three. Excessive? Maybe. Do I care? Not at all. Quick hits: Malaysian airport security is a joke Malaysia is incredibly diverse In two weeks I saw three blondes, one was myself in the [...]

A Friday afternoon roller coaster

There have been a lot of moments this summer where I have stood at my desk on the verge of tears. I have a few friends with the misconception I am very put together. I want to be very clear, just because I have gotten a lucky break at an incredible company I am legally an adult, I have so [...]

Days 52-55: Entering the final countdown…

No way has it almost been two months here... I am in disbelief and honestly fighting off the sadness of leaving Copenhagen on an hourly basis. Quick Hits: work is hard!! (but rewarding) I had a desert at work that was like a giant cake pop but less dense and covered in coconut. Don't know [...]

Sup! I was blown away by England this week but unfortunately had a really tight schedule and wasn't able to do much actual exploring. Quick hits: so glad I wear my retainer DONG Energy is a private company, which supplies the primary amount of Denmark's energy. This is important to understand before looking at the [...]

Just a soul charging weekend with a lot of ladies that inspire me 💖
Got to live an actual dream of mine this last weekend emceeing EDGE 2022. It’s hard to describe how incredible this program is, but just imagine becoming empowered to literally change the world, make lifelong genuine friendships, and grow into who you truly are as a person over three days as a high school sophomore at a sleep away camp. And I was lucky enough to be asked to help guide all these amazing young leaders through it. You better believe I nearly weeped talking to a crowd of parents once the weekend was over. So proud and excited for all of EDGE 2022 to change the world!!! BANANAS!!!
Destroyed my camera in Cancun but this pic survived 🥺
Anna and I trained five months for the El Cruce marathon open water swim. Mother Nature had other plans. 20 min into the swim the sky turned to black, 20 min after that the swell was massive and rain was pounding, and it was impossible to tell where we came from and where we were going. In total 1,500 swimmers were found, fished out, and thrown onto any boat that could hold us. It was a huge bummer to not complete the swim, but what’s most important is that everyone made it back safely. Couldn’t have asked for a better training partner/ adventure sister! Leaving Mexico a little broken-hearted but boy do we have stories to tell. El Cruce 2023, we’re coming for you.
To lifelong friends, to summer sunsets, and most importantly to Jenna ✨
Summer is that u?!?! 🤩
